Breastfeeding Class
An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant will review basic principles and what to expect when breastfeeding. Significant others are encouraged to attend.

Diabetes Self-Management Education
This program offers individual appointments with flexible scheduling. The goal of the program is to assist people with type 2 diabetes, to improve glucose control by learning self-management skills and risk reduction behaviors. The program includes all 10 core content areas mandated by the American Diabetes Association for a recognized program, and by the Iowa Department of Public Health for a certified program.
A free 30-minute session with a certified wellness coach is included.

Heartsaver® Courses
Basic Life Support Course for HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS
Part 1: Heartsaver CPR and AED: 5 to 9 p.m.
A video-based course that teaches CPR and AED use. It also includes how to relieve choking on an adult, child and infant. Participants will receive a 2-year completion card upon successful completion of the class. Print this certificate of completion before attending the in-person session.
Fee: $60

Part 2: Heartsaver First Aid: 9 to 10 p.m.
This one hour in-person session will be taught by Michelle Litterer, WHC’s BLS Instructor. Call the education office to schedule at (319) 352-4939. Participants will receive a 2-year completion card upon successful completion of the class. Must be paired with Heartsaver CPR and AED Course above.

Heartsaver Courses for NON-HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS
Part 1: Heartsaver CPR and AED: 5 to 9 p.m.
A classroom, video-based and instructor-led course. Includes how to relieve choking on an adult, child and infant.
Fee: $60
Part 2: Heartsaver First Aid: 9 to 10 p.m.
A classroom, video-based and instructor-led course that teaches critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services (EMS) arrive. Participants will learn how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first-aid emergencies. Must be paired with Heartsaver CPR and AED Course above.
Additional fee: $25
Participants will receive a 2-year completion card from the American Heart Association upon successful completion of the course(s).
These courses do NOT fulfill the requirement for health care professionals.

Prenatal Class
This class has been designed to help expectant mothers and support persons prepare for the birth of their child, including labor and delivery.
