Beth Hockey is no stranger to Waverly Health Center as she has been an employee at WHC for six and a half years. She has always assured her patients that they will be well taken care of and discovered this truth when she had a hysterectomy done in WHC’s surgery complex and had an overnight stay on the Medical/Surgical floor.
Beth stated, “From the moment I walked in the door until I left the following morning, I felt like the only patient in the building.” She recalled specific acts of kindness and care during her stay at WHC. Friendly greetings, compassionate gestures, well wishes, thorough explanations and prompt follow up care all played a role in Beth’s positive experience. “Dr. Styron was my surgeon and he did an amazing job. All the nurses in surgery and on the floor were amazing and the dietary staff was wonderful,” she added.
Beth feels by having surgery at WHC and experiencing the care first hand it gives her the advantage of being able to better prepare patients for surgery. Beth concluded, “I felt like each staff person I came in contact with at WHC truly cared about me.”
