For Ross and Missy Timmermans, sleepless nights unfortunately were a common thing in their household. Their daughter Isla, had her first ear infection at a very young age. After several visits to her pediatrician Dr. Stacy Wagner at Christophel Clinic, Isla was referred to Dr. F. E. Gonzales who specializes in ear, nose and throat (ENT) conditions.
Isla had appointments with both Dr. Gonzales and Bethany Heidemann, ARNP, and was soon scheduled to have tubes placed in her ears. The thought of having the surgery done was a little scary for mom, but also brought her a sense of relief. Isla had many ear infections so it was good to know she would be feeling better soon.
Ear tube placement day had arrived. “The surgery staff were all very accommodating to our family and we never felt rushed. They answered all our questions and gave us the privacy we needed to help comfort Isla. The blanket and bear helped calm her down and made her very cozy and comfy,” Missy stated.
“After surgery, Dr. Gonzales spoke with us, calling us by name and was very approachable and friendly. It really put us at ease. The whole experience at WHC was incredible and the care was amazing,” Ross said.
Since surgery, Isla’s balance has improved and she is no longer tugging at her ears. “We are still working on those sleepless nights, but she isn’t waking up in pain and crying out like she was before surgery,” Missy added.
