Josh and Jessy Whitinger made Waverly their home in 2009. After getting settled in, they welcomed their first baby Evelyn in 2010. Jessy had been seeing a provider in the Women’s Clinic prior to becoming pregnant so they chose Waverly Health Center (WHC) for the delivery.
“We just love how warm and friendly everybody is at WHC,” stated Jessy. Over the next several years, Jessy and Josh added Lucas, Ada and most recently Miles to their family.
When Ada was born, there were a few complications that made the delivery a little scary. “Everyone involved was so calming and reassuring,” Jessy said. She needed to have a hernia repaired after the caesarean section (C-section) and Dr. Ivey, WHC general surgeon, was able to do it right after the delivery. “The nurses were awesome and provided me updates on Ada as soon as they were available,” Jessy continued. After the repair was completed, Jessy was reunited with Ada and all was well.
Even though Miles was their fourth child and fourth C-section, it was the first child Dr. Barbara Weno had delivered for them. From the very first visit, Jessy was impressed with her. “She obviously had read my entire record from start to finish and was very detailed and thorough,” Jessy added.
“Ada and Miles were born during peak birthing months. However, we were always well cared for and each nurse and doctor paid close attention to our every need,” stated Jessy.
“The birthing center was absolutely wonderful. From the music and massage therapies to all the staff, who are so genuine, we couldn’t have asked for better care. We are lucky to have Waverly Health Center so close to home,” stated Jessy.
