Living and working in Waterloo, Stefani Meyer didn’t choose Waverly Health Center for her prenatal care at first. There were other closer options. Stefani later called WHC’s Women’s Clinic with the hopes of getting high-quality, timely and patient-centered health care. “When I called, the receptionist answered all of my questions and was sincere about my concerns. I was surprised when she told me I could be seen that same day,” said Stefani.
Her first visit reaffirmed her decision. “My husband and I were so impressed – the clinic was clean, staff members were very friendly and organized, and we were called back right after check-in!”
Looking back on her prenatal care, Stefani remembers many instances where she felt extremely cared for. “The nurses would call me as soon as my test results were in instead of waiting until my next appointment. They also were great at readdressing concerns. For example, I struggled with headaches during my pregnancy. At each appointment, they checked with me to make sure I was comfortable.”
LaDawna Myrmo, certified nurse midwife, commented, “I want my patients to know they have options and I’m here to help them navigate through those options. I like to spend time educating my patients – letting them know what we can do for them and what they can do for themselves.”
Stefani continued, “My prenatal care was unmatched! This is our third child so we knew procedurally what to expect. What we didn’t expect was the number of choices we had throughout our journey! The Women’s Clinic did a great job letting us know our options and empowered us to make our own decisions. The staff exceeded my expectations. They have positively added to one of the most memorable times of our lives.”
