Sue Taiber of Waverly takes choosing a surgeon very seriously. She’s glad she picked Dr. Linda Martin at Waverly Health Center’s Orthopedic Clinic.
“Choosing a surgeon, along with the accompanying support staff and facility, takes a fair amount of due diligence and at some point, a leap of faith,” Sue commented. “Having trust in the team you select creates a likelihood of a successful outcome, and clearly brings peace of mind to the table. This was my experience in choosing Dr. Linda Martin and the Waverly Health Center.”
Her knee replacement in April 2017, wasn’t her first experience with Dr. Martin. “I had my left knee replaced in late September 2016. I credit my quick recovery to faith in the health care team and my own can-do attitude.”
Within six weeks after surgery and physical therapy, Sue was back to living a fairly normal life. After a few more months, she was able to hike in the mountains and keep up with her peers without pain.
Having this experience under her belt, Sue had the confidence to repeat the process on her deteriorating right knee. “After years of pain and compromised lifestyle, I knew the time had come to commit and take care of the other knee. From the first appointment through recovery, I enjoyed timely and professional communications and explanations of what to expect. It was an orderly set of steps to reach the goal of a new and functional knee.”
“It is a great feeling to have these two surgeries behind me and to know I can look forward to pain-free knees in my future.” Sue commented. “Having such a skilled surgeon and a highly regarded hospital right here in Waverly is the icing on the cake. I am so thankful for Dr. Linda Martin, her clinic team, the surgery staff and the physical therapy team at WHC for returning pain-free mobility to my life!”
