Sharon Jahnke and Bruce Coleman, both of Waverly, and Linda Pruin of Clarksville, recently received a ten year volunteer service award from the Iowa Insurance Division and the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP). SHIIP presented the awards during their 2017 volunteer and sponsor recognition luncheon.
“Sharon, Bruce and Linda have been an integral part of the SHIIP program of outreach and information for Iowans on Medicare,” said Kris Gross, Director of Iowa SHIIP. “Their hard work, along with over 350 volunteers across the state, has helped thousands of Iowans save money on their insurance costs, saving more than $21 million just last year.”
SHIIP, a service of the Insurance Division of the State of Iowa, provides free-of-charge counseling and information to people with questions about:
- Medicare supplement insurance
- Medicare Prescription Drug (Part D) program
- Medicare Advantage
The State of Iowa created SHIIP in 1990 in response to the statewide need for senior health insurance information. SHIIP does not recommend insurance companies, plans or agents.
