Waverly Health Center Names August Spotlight on Values Award Winners

Waverly-Administrator | August 30th, 2018

Six members of the Waverly Health Center (WHC) team have been named August Spotlight on Values award winners. Nominated by co-workers, patients and members of the community, these individuals are examples of WHC’s values in action.

Karmyn Larsen of Clarksville, Walk-In Clinic, was recognized for the value of compassion. Karmyn helped with two young children as their mother was being seen in the clinic. The patient continued, “It was a huge stress reliever for me and much appreciated!”
Jodi Reitmajer of Waverly, The Spa, was recognized for the value of enthusiasm. Jodi recently joined the hospital’s Employee Engagement Council. Jodi’s nominator shared, “She has been a blessing to have on this council, always creating a fun atmosphere, having a great attitude, and going above and beyond with her commitment to the group.”
Ken Zeien of Waverly, Center Pharmacy, was recognized for the value of excellence. Ken worked with a patient, provider and pharmacist to get medicine to a patient quickly, and at a lower cost. His nominator shared, “The patient’s wife was so very thankful to have such fantastic quality care and exceptional customer service.”
Sara Seehase of Waverly, General Surgery Clinic, was recognized for the value of integrity. Sara recently developed colonoscopy prep kits available at Center Pharmacy. Her nominator commented, “This has saved the patients time and effort in finding the products and assures they have exactly what they need. Our patients are very appreciative of this service.”
Samantha Davis of Waverly, Birthing Center, was recognized for the value of leadership. Samantha has recently took on the role of house supervisor. Her nominator stated, “Sam has handled emergency situations with skill, tact, and leadership; keeping in mind the needs of the hospital as a whole.”
Dr. John Zehr of Waverly, Emergency Department, received WHC’s Quarterly Provider Spotlight on Values Award. Dr. Zehr was nominated for his dedication to WHC patients. His nominator stated, ” I had four patients scheduled for nuclear stress testing, but the provider who was to complete the testing was sick. I called Dr. Zehr to discuss our options. He said he would come in and do the testing himself. I later found out that meant he had to rearrange his own personal appointments for the day. He didn’t want to let the patients down by asking them to reschedule.”

WHC has adopted six values which include compassion, enthusiasm, excellence, innovation, integrity and leadership. The Spotlight on Values program recognizes WHC employees, volunteers and physicians for demonstrating these values. Patients, visitors and employees are encouraged to submit nominations for the WHC Spotlight on Values honors. Nominations can be submitted online or at any Spotlight on Values ballot boxes placed throughout the health center.
