Waverly Health Center Names June Spotlight on Values Award Winners

Waverly-Administrator | June 21st, 2018

Six members of the Waverly Health Center (WHC) team have been named June Spotlight on Values award winners. Nominated by co-workers, patients and members of the community, these individuals are examples of WHC’s values in action.

Nick Schutte of New Hampton, medical-surgical, was recognized for the value of compassion. During a conversation with one of his patients, he learned that her favorite pie was from a restaurant in his hometown. On his day off, Nick surprised her with a piece of Strawberry-Rhubarb pie. His nominator continued, “I want Nick to know how much he lit up her world. She is so incredibly grateful for the care she received at WHC and the role Nick played went above and beyond expectations.”
Chris Mannetter of Nashua, nutrition services, was recognized for the value of enthusiasm. Chris’s nominator shared, “She generally greets me with a smile and song of the day or just a friendly joke to make me smile. She is a perfect example of enthusiasm in the hospital!”
Sarah Wadey of Greene, environmental services, was recognized for the value of excellence. Sarah’s attention to detail is a great fit in her role at the health center. Her nominator shared her gratitude, “Thank you, Sarah, for being such a hard worker!”
Pam Redies of Tripoli, information systems, was recognized for the value of innovation. Pam has spent hours testing and training staff for a successful new software upgrade. Her nominator said, “She works closely with our staff to ensure all issues and concerns are documented, reviewed and a resolution has been sought.”
Rhonda Wehling of Sumner, education, was recognized for the value of integrity. Rhonda recently accepted the role of chairing the Security Sub-committee. Her nominator commented, “Rhonda is organized and keeps meetings and projects moving forward. She is a dedicated, honest and respectful employee. I can rely on her to get the work done!”
Joni Poppe of Plainfield, outpatient medical services, was recognized for the value of leadership. In 2017, new federal requirements changed an accreditation process. Her nominator stated, “Joni took ownership of the project from day one, redrafting 99+ documents and preforming testing. Her work not only achieved successful program accreditation, but a higher quality process for our patients.”

WHC has adopted six values which include compassion, enthusiasm, excellence, innovation, integrity and leadership. The Spotlight on Values program recognizes WHC employees, volunteers and physicians for demonstrating these values. Patients, visitors and employees are encouraged to submit nominations for the WHC Spotlight on Values honors. Nominations can be submitted online or at any Spotlight on Values ballot boxes placed throughout the health center.
