Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a patient to use your laboratory services?

No. Our lab is open to everyone, including patients from outside clinics or healthcare providers. If your provider orders testing, you can choose to have it done here.

Do I need an appointment for lab work?

Most lab services are available on a walk-in basis, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. However, some specialty tests may require scheduled appointments. Your provider or our lab staff will let you know if advance scheduling is needed.

What do I need to bring when I come to the lab?

Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card and your provider’s lab order (if required). When you arrive, check in at the front desk to register. Our team will help guide you through the process quickly and efficiently.

Will my insurance cover lab testing?

Waverly Health Center accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Coverage may vary depending on your test and insurance provider. Our billing team can help you understand your benefits and any out-of-pocket costs before testing.

When and how will I get my results?

Results are typically sent directly to your ordering provider. For walk-in wellness tests, results are mailed to you within about one week. If you have a patient portal account, you may also be able to access results online.

Can the lab perform testing on a home testing kit or specimen collection kit?

Yes. In many cases, our laboratory can process specimens collected using approved testing kits. Before bringing in your kit, please complete the required laboratory form and bring it with you to Admissions, along with the specimen and a $50 processing fee. If you have questions about a specific kit, please contact the laboratory before your visit.
