Melinda Pitt Receives Waverly Health Center’s ‘Spirit of Volunteerism’ Award!
Melinda Pitt, Waverly Health Center (WHC) volunteer services manager, was recently presented with the health center’s Spirit of Volunteerism award. This award is a way for WHC employees to show appreciation to an employee who volunteers in the community. WHC recognizes one exceptional employee volunteer each year.
Melinda lives in Waverly and was nominated for her time and dedication to All In Mentoring (AIM). AIM is a non-profit organization established after Big Brothers Big Sisters ceased operations in our community. Melinda helped lead a steering committee comprised of former mentors, educators and community leaders to realize the vision of creating a mentoring program in the Waverly area.
Over the past three years, Melinda has served on AIM’s board of directors, most recently as the treasurer. Her nominator stated, “She provides invaluable advice, guidance and support. She consistently goes above and beyond to recruit mentors, solicit donations and promote AIM. She jumps in when needs arise to benefit the children in our community.”
A $250 donation will be made to All In Mentoring in Melinda’s name. AIM’s’ mission is to invest in intergenerational mentoring relationships that create confident and compassionate individuals. Learn more at: https://allinmentoring.org/
