A Rough Start to the Morning
When 8-year-old Saylor of Denver woke up with red, itchy eyes, her dad, Zach, thought it might just be allergies. But as the morning went on, her eyes became more irritated—watery, uncomfortable, and clearly not improving. Worried it could be pink eye, Zach brought her to the Waverly Health Center Walk-In Clinic.
Fast, Friendly Service
They were seen quickly by Kelsey Masters, ARNP, who greeted them with a warm smile. “Kelsey was kind and efficient,” Zach said. “She made Saylor feel at ease right away, which isn’t always easy when your kid isn’t feeling well.” Kelsey diagnosed Saylor with conjunctivitis—commonly known as pink eye—and recommended antibiotic eye drops. But when Saylor learned she’d need drops in her eyes, her nerves kicked in.
A Kid-Friendly Tip That Worked
“Kelsey picked up on Saylor’s anxiety right away and shared a kid-friendly tip,” Zach said. “She suggested placing the drops in the corner of her closed eye and then opening it, so they gently roll in. It worked like a charm and made all the difference.”
Back to Feeling Better
Thanks to the fast, thoughtful care, Saylor started feeling better within a couple of days. “I liked that it didn’t hurt—and she helped me feel better,” Saylor said with a smile. The Waverly Health Center Walk-In Clinic is here for those unexpected health concerns, providing quick, compassionate care when families need it most.
