When Delaney and Alan first learned they were expecting, the news itself felt like a miracle. But discovering that miracle had doubled was something they never could have imagined. For more than a year and a half, Delaney had struggled with infertility caused by PCOS. After months of emotional ups and downs, she and Alan sought help from an infertility specialist. “After shedding many tears, spending a lot on medications, we finally got a positive pregnancy test after our very first IUI,” Delaney shared.
That long-awaited moment of joy would soon be followed by another surprise. “With our first scheduled ultrasound, I laid back on the table, and my husband and I eagerly waited to see one baby on the screen. Then we heard the tech say, ‘Oh look, it’s TWINS!’” Delaney burst into laughter while Alan sat in stunned silence. “I could see the sweat pooling on his forehead. We never imagined getting pregnant this soon, let alone with twins! To this day, we still laugh in complete awe.”
Throughout the months that followed, the couple prepared for their babies’ arrival with excitement and a lot of love. “We painted the nursery, assembled the cribs and leaned on the incredible support of our families. These boys have been spoiled with love since the moment we shared the news.” When it came time to choose where to deliver, the decision was easy. “My sister had delivered both of her children at Waverly Health Center (WHC) and had nothing but glowing things to say,” Delaney explained. “As someone who hates hospitals and anything involving needles, I can honestly say I’ve never had an experience quite like this one.”
Delaney said the staff made her feel completely at ease. “The nursing staff were WONDERFUL,” she emphasized. “They made me feel heard, respected and cared for. Not just the birthing center team, every single staff member we interacted with made my experience a 10/10. You can tell that the doctors and nurses truly love their work and care deeply for their patients.” She added, “What stood out most to me was how involved the staff were with patient care. The nurses were supportive and encouraging. I would recommend WHC to everyone without hesitation.”
Delaney and Alan welcomed their twin boys, Banks and Kayson who immediately captured their hearts. “Meeting my boys was the most heartwarming and surreal experience of my life,” Delaney said. “I never knew I could love someone I just met so much.” Though they share a birthday and look alike, their personalities couldn’t be more different. “Banks is definitely our wild child, and he loves to be the loudest in the room,” Delaney smiled. “Kayson, on the other hand, is calm, content and loves to snuggle. But one thing they have in common? They both love listening to ‘You Are My Sunshine.’”
For Delaney and Alan, their experience at WHC was everything they hoped it would be and more. “Overall, my experience at Waverly Health Center was nothing short of unforgettable,” Delaney said. “The level of care, compassion and support I received is something truly special and something I don’t think you could find anywhere else. If you’re considering where to deliver, I would recommend WHC in a heartbeat.
