Six members of the Waverly Health Center (WHC) team have been named January/February Spotlight on Values award winners. Nominated by co-workers, patients and members of the community, these individuals are examples of WHC’s values in action.
Stephanie Cuvelier, Shell Rock, Christophel Clinic, was recognized for the value of compassion. Her nominator wrote, “Steph demonstrates compassion and integrity with every patient and family she interacts with. She is a great resource and makes the families feel comfortable with each visit and/or telephone call. She has a big heart and truly cares about the people she serves. We are extremely lucky to have her here on our team at Christophel Clinic.”
Bailey Krull, Waverly, quality services, was recognized for the value of enthusiasm. Her nominator noted, “Enthusiasm award. Bailey truly brightens every room she enters with her warm smile and friendly demeanor. She creates a welcoming, positive atmosphere for both coworkers and those we serve, all while remaining professional and respectful. Bailey is a hard worker who consistently gets things done with a great attitude. Her energy, kindness and dedication make a meaningful difference in our daily work environment, and she is a wonderful example of what it means to lead with enthusiasm.”
Kylie Dreckman, Waverly, human resources, was recognized for the value of innovation. Her nominator wrote, “Kylie has been a tremendous resource for the payroll team as we have continued to navigate through our Workday implementation. She has taken the initiative to not only learn a new system for herself, but also to spend time researching ways to mitigate problem areas whether they are directly tied to her functional areas or not. This has greatly assisted me as I don’t always have enough time to investigate these items on my own. She has on many occasions assisted me to brainstorm solutions for problems we are facing, test potential solutions and ultimately implement the changes needed to fix the problem. This, in my eyes, defines what the innovation value at Waverly Health Center is all about.”
Nicole Myers, Fairbank, administration, was recognized for the value of integrity. Her nominator noted, “Nicole consistently demonstrates dedication, honesty, respect and accountability in everything she does. I truly appreciate her quick responses to my questions and her willingness to help whenever needed. She is incredibly approachable, always saying hello when she walks by, and her friendly personality makes others feel comfortable and welcome. Nicole balances professionalism with a fun, positive attitude, creating an environment where people feel respected and supported. Nicole’s kindness, reliability and genuine care for others make her a wonderful example of integrity in action.“
Lindy Ibeling, Parkersburg, community relations, was recognized for the value of leadership. Her nominator wrote, “Lindy is an exceptional leader not only within our department, but across the entire organization. As the leader of both community relations and the Foundation departments, she provides clear vision, steady guidance and unwavering support to her team. Lindy leads with compassion, always making others feel heard, respected and valued. She is a wonderful teacher and mentor, consistently encouraging growth while fostering a positive and collaborative environment. Her integrity, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence are evident in everything she does, and she inspires those around her to do their very best. Lindy truly exemplifies what it means to be a leader, and I am grateful to work with and learn from her.”
Haylie Newman, Parkersburg, emergency department, was recognized for the value of excellence. Her nominator noted, “No matter which room she enters, Haylie consistently provides timely, thoughtful care while recognizing the emotional needs of each patient she encounters. Patients in the emergency department are often uncomfortable, frightened or frustrated. Haylie meets every patient exactly where they are, responding with patience, kindness and empathy. Whether it is bringing a fifth warm blanket to keep an elderly patient comfortable or creating a small care package to soothe a scared toddler, Haylie never overlooks comfort. She does this consistently and proactively, without needing to be asked. Her compassion is not situational; it is part of who she is and how she practices every shift. She exemplifies compassion through her actions, her consistency and her genuine care for those who are at their most vulnerable.”
WHC has adopted six values which include compassion, enthusiasm, excellence, innovation, integrity and leadership. The Spotlight on Values program recognizes WHC employees, volunteers and physicians for demonstrating these values. Patients, visitors and employees are encouraged to submit nominations for the WHC Spotlight on Values honors. Nominations can be submitted at any Spotlight on Values ballot boxes placed throughout the health center.
