Nine members of the Waverly Health Center (WHC) team have been named May/June Spotlight on Values award winners. Nominated by co-workers, patients and members of the community, these individuals are examples of WHC’s values in action.
Kim Wiebke, Greene, Christophel Clinic, was recognized for the value of compassion. Her nominator wrote, “Kim is always so helpful when I call the Christophel Clinic. She is empathetic, caring and puts me in contact with just the right person to meet my needs and concerns. Kim is always pleasant, has a smile in her voice as well as in person. Kim is my go-to person for all my needs and questions for the Christophel providers.”
Stacey Lahr, Waverly, nutrition services, was recognized for the value of enthusiasm. Her nominator noted, “Stacey consistently exemplifies enthusiasm through her genuine warmth, positive attitude and eagerness to help others. Stacey’s consistent cheerfulness, generosity and pleasant demeanor truly embody the value of Enthusiasm, making our work environment more welcoming for everyone. She truly deserves recognition for her exceptional spirit and the joy she brings to Waverly Health Center every day.”
Carol Soldwisch, Shell Rock, health information management, was recognized for the value of excellence. “Thank you Carol for showing excellence in your job and for being a great co-worker who is reliable, trustworthy, honest, funny and nice.,” her nominator wrote.
Kassy Hovenga, Shell Rock, birthing center and Kristin Kahler, PT, Waverly, Taylor Therapy – The Center for Pediatric Therapies were recognized for the value of innovation. Their nominator wrote, “Kassy and Kristin took a small idea to help EMS providers feel more comfortable and prepared to treat children with special needs and created an excellent educational experience. They saw this as an opportunity to develop new and shared ideas among EMS providers and parents/caregivers of these patients and turned it into something which is much needed.”
Jodi Connolly, Oelwein, laboratory, was also recognized for the value of innovation. Her nominator wrote, “Jodi is always helping in the lab with her innovative ideas. She is always so creative and clever with our storage solutions.”
Janet McCullough, Waverly, hospital pharmacy, was recognized for the value of integrity. Her nominator stated, “There are not enough words to express the hard work, dedication and integrity Janet provides to the pharmacy team. Janet has worked at WHC for 20 years and is a knowledgeable resource for policy, procedures and questions.”
Jody Smith, Clarksville, laboratory, was recognized for the value of leadership. Her nominator noted, “Jody has consistently gone above and beyond in handling complex billing issues, ensuring accurate test billing by tracking special cases and applying the correct codes. Her attention to detail and proactive support have been invaluable. She also contributed thoughtfully during the planning and learning phase for new billing codes. Jody excels in her daily responsibilities and takes on additional tasks with a positive attitude, making her a true asset to the team.”
Lara Kyhl, ARNP, New Hartford, medical staff office, received WHC’s Quarterly Provider Spotlight on Values Award. Her nominator wrote, “Lara exemplifies all six of WHC values on a daily basis. I could enter any of the WHC values and her name would fit into the definition. I am pleased to nominate Lara for her outstanding leadership in providing a clear vision and consistent guidance to providers, staff and multiple departments across our organization. Lara’s proactive approach to collaboration has fostered an environment of transparency, support and efficiency. This level of engagement and strategic thinking makes Lara an invaluable asset to our organization.”
WHC has adopted six values which include compassion, enthusiasm, excellence, innovation, integrity and leadership. The Spotlight on Values program recognizes WHC employees, volunteers and physicians for demonstrating these values. Patients, visitors and employees are encouraged to submit nominations for the WHC Spotlight on Values honors. Nominations can be submitted at any Spotlight on Values ballot boxes placed throughout the health center.
