Three members of the Waverly Health Center (WHC) team have been named September/October Spotlight on Values award winners. Nominated by co-workers, patients and members of the community, these individuals are examples of WHC’s values in action.

Karen Sackett, Waverly, Shell Rock Clinic, was recognized for the value of enthusiasm. Her nominator wrote, “Karen is a valued member of the Women’s Clinic care team and is cross trained to serve both behavioral health and women’s health patients. She ALWAYS steps up to serve, with enthusiasm, friendliness and competence. She is a true team player and a dependable colleague. She puts patients first and I’m proud to work with her.”

Jennifer Fowler-Oesterle, Waverly, Lab, was recognized for the value of excellence. Her nominator noted, “Jenny is exceptional at her role and is such an asset to the WHC lab. Not only does she provide the best care for our patients but ensures all other details are completed on the back end of things. She continually goes above and beyond not only for the patient but also for staff by answering questions regarding lab testing or processes without hesitation.”

Jan Davis, ARNP, Waverly, Walk-In Clinic, received WHC’s Quarterly Provider Spotlight on Values Award. Her nominator wrote, ” After rooming patients, I always tell them which provider they are scheduled to see. Patients show enthusiasm when they hear that Jan will be taking care of them. You can visibly see the look of relief on nervous parents’ faces when you tell them she is their provider. The community respects and appreciates her care. She also goes above and beyond to check in on how patients are doing after their visit and call them personally to explain confusing results. Honestly Jan could be nominated for every one of these categories as she shows excellence in all aspects or her care. She is a great asset to the WHC team.”

WHC has adopted six values which include compassion, enthusiasm, excellence, innovation, integrity and leadership. The Spotlight on Values program recognizes WHC employees, volunteers and physicians for demonstrating these values. Patients, visitors and employees are encouraged to submit nominations for the WHC Spotlight on Values honors. Nominations can be submitted at any Spotlight on Values ballot boxes placed throughout the health center.
